KEEP Standard
The KEEP Standard programme is designed for carers and special guardians with children aged 5-12 years. KEEP Standard is a 90 minute weekly group programme which runs over 16 weeks. The programme has a specific weekly curriculum and free sessions are built in to allow flexibility according to need. If more time needs to be spent on fine tuning charts with carers for example, this can easily be done.
The curriculum includes a number of positive parenting strategies such as pre-teaching and balancing encouragement with limit setting to support carers in managing behaviours without power struggles. KEEP Standard also explores how the strategies can encourage school and friendship success.
KEEP is designed to use the issues and ideas brought by the participants and is tailored to their needs. There is a manual for the facilitators and summaries and handouts for the carers.
There has been an independent evaluation of KEEP Standard – click here for more details.
